Look Up

So many of us take this shot. We all want proof that we looked up.

I’m no different. Most of my time is spent looking at my screens, or my feet, while deeply imbedded in my thoughts.

‘Looking up’ is the new elective.

An extracurricular activity.

And if there’s no proof, it didn’t happen.

A friend from my past found me the other day. We’d gone our separate ways when the world was pulling its shades.

He hadn’t changed a bit.

An actual chance to return to ‘before.’

What we all want right?

But as I mentioned two posts ago,

Reruns aren’t funny anymore.

Other points of view are becoming my priority now.

I already know my own.

I knew that was a lie the moment I wrote it, as they change daily.

There are some I’m even proud of now,

Which beats shame every time.

Choose your seat carefully for this shift of consciousness,

Because whether you like it or not, we’re all going.

I want the window.

I’ll bring you back a picture.

This night middle writing has its own fractured flow.

I’ll return to the land of the sleeping and linear thinking soon.
