Last year I was at loose ends for a while and everything was wrong all at the same time.

My life was all dimes and repeating numbers because that’s their way of telling me to hang in there during the rough patches. 2’s are particularly lovely because they signal new beginnings and that was just about right for me, so they seemed to be everywhere. If this is something that happens to you, it can almost be comical at times with its frequency as well as its ‘frequency’.

We’d hiked out to the tip of Cape Flattery where all the air you can breathe is being made, and were in awe at the view that unfolded. Captain James Cook named this area when he arrived in 1778 looking for a harbor, and the caves below definitely invite fantasies of hidden treasure.

For safety, there was a raised platform that had a pretty good view of the boot shaped rock formations marking the deepest caves below. I saw that under the platform there was an area with a slightly better, but still safe, perspective so I decided to climb down. As I moved toward the edge, I offered up a silent request for safety and felt an internal reminder to ‘hang on.’ I shifted to the right to reach for a post, and there it was, so I laughed out loud.

We’re connected even when we’re unconscious. We can argue about what exactly it is we’re connected to, but in the end, awareness of energy may be enough to move us along.
